Executive Summary

The Bodoland Mobile Health & Diagnostic Mission aims to bridge critical healthcare access gaps in Bodoland Territorial Council by deploying fully equipped mobile health units. These units will provide primary healthcare consultations, point-of-care diagnostics, maternal health services, and health awareness campaigns in remote and underserved areas across Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri and Tamulpur districts. The programme will leverage the existing NHM infrastructure while introducing advanced diagnostic capabilities to reach the last mile.

Need Assessment & Problem Statement

Bodoland Territorial Council faces significant healthcare access challenges with limited PHC/CHC infrastructure in remote areas, high out-of-pocket expenditure on health, low specialist doctor availability, and geographical barriers that prevent tribal communities from accessing timely medical care. The doctor-to-population ratio in Bodoland Territorial Council is significantly below the national average, and many villages are more than 25 km from the nearest health facility.

Project Objectives

  • Deploy mobile health units with diagnostic capabilities in all 5 Bodoland Territorial Council districts
  • Provide primary healthcare services to 75,000+ beneficiaries over 3 years
  • Conduct health screenings for TB, malaria, diabetes, hypertension and other NCDs
  • Strengthen maternal and child health services in remote areas
  • Build community health awareness through IEC activities
  • Create a digital health records system for continuity of care
