Bodoland Women Enterprise & Livelihood Mission
Empower women through SHG formation, skill development, micro-enterprise creation, market linkages and financial literacy in all Bodoland Territorial Council districts.
Why This Project?
The Need
Women in Bodoland Territorial Council face limited economic opportunities, low literacy rates, restricted access to credit and markets, and high dependence on subsistence agriculture. Women's workforce participation is below state average despite strong traditional skills in weaving and handicrafts.
The Intervention
The Bodoland Women Enterprise & Livelihood Mission empowers women through a multi-pronged approach: forming and strengthening SHGs, providing market-relevant skill training, facilitating micro-enterprise creation, establishing market linkages and building financial literacy. The programme leverages Bodoland's rich weaving and handicraft traditions alongside modern enterprise skills.
The Impact
Income surveys. Enterprise survival rates. SHG grading. Women empowerment index.
